Shekina as a social business has a big impact on the community; we have chosen to empower women. Now we are working with more than 1500 women farmers who supply us inputs. Shekina has a well-organized supply chain where farmers are grouped in 5 cooperatives. Each cooperative has a collection center facility built in partnership with Oxfam and the government of Rwanda through the District of Rulindo. Each collection center is managed by 20 girls (100 in total). We chose girls who didn’t get a chance to go to university in order to build their capacity, help them get a source of income, and develop their self-esteem.
