Almeta Impex PLC is a privately owned business engaged in fresh products producing and processing company in Ethiopia.Almeta Impex has two business units located in two different geographic locations and has different specialties. Koka Farms is the first business Unit located in the central part of the country (only 90 Km from South East of Addis Ababa), specializing in table and wine grape production. Koka Farms is the only farm in Ethiopia that has Table grapes with a drip system and a larger scale. The farm has a 90 Ha size with a well-established drip system and packhouse. Moreover, the farm produces different exportable vegetables, namely Fine beans, butternut, onion, watermelon, tomato, and other leafy vegetables. Hawassa Farms (300 Ha) is the other business unit of the company.Located near Hawassa City and 270 Km from the South of Addis Ababa. Avocado is one of the strategic crops of the farm. Banana and Papaya are also other exportable fresh products on the farm. Currently, we are installing the drip and another irrigation system on the farm, which makes the company be the first Avocado producer from its mechanized farm.The business units are empowered to conduct their operational business under the Chairman and Managing Director of Almeta Impex PLC and the Executive Board. The oversight of the executive management team is restricted to ensuring long-term value enhancement for all stakeholders.Given the new 21st Century organizations style of management, the employees of the Head Offices and the business Units are very much motivated, having a high level of integrity and teamwork. As a business and to fulfill its social responsibilities and commitment, Almeta Impex PLC is involved in the export market, which brings hard currency to the national economy, actively participating in import substitution and preserving the national hard currency reserve (Table grapes ), technology transfer to the local farmers and professionals and actively involved and social support around the farms and Nationwide.
